  1. For testing if the product/system is suitable to some special user group, I notice that testers can use some assistant tools to mimic them (like using the gloves to mimic people with arthritis). However, the testers aren’t special in some way, they cannot get the real feeling of the special user group. For example although the gloves make their hands similar anthropometric with arthritis people, the testers themselves cannot feel the pain that arthritis people may have. Therefore, is it a good way to let people with normal physical dimensions and capabilities mimic the special users? Is it better to test the product/system with real special user group?

  2. When we design/evaluate a software system, vision is definitely important. We need to consider color, font, layout…make sure it fits users. And capture which part we want to express to users. But I am not really understand why sound is also important maybe in software system. or is sound very important in other systems?

  3. Sound (audio) can help by giving feedback on interaction. For example, when using a virtual keyboard, some people are reassured by hearing a click as each key is pressed : a sort of interaction confirmation. In some digital materials, audio can also be used to suggest emotion, for example a cheery feel or create a sense of tension.
